1 Department of Analytical Chemistry, Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki, Greece.

Biacetyl is determined in five different commercial Greek wines by fluorimetry after condensation with 3,4-diaminoanisole. The results are compared with those taken by absorbance spectrophotometry. The RSD was found to be 6.38%.

Key words: biacetyl, fluorimetry, 3,4-diaminoanisole, wines, vapor distillation
