An experiment was conducted to induce seedlessness in the seeded grape cultivar Rubi (Italia Red) using a commercial source of streptomycin. Streptomycin (400 mg/L) applied to clusters six to eight days before bloom, followed by 30 mg/L GA3 12 days after bloom, resulted in commercially acceptable clusters (476 g) and 100% seedless berries weighing 6.3 g. This technique may allow growers to produce seedless berries from seeded table grape cultivars.

Key words: table grapes, seedlessness induction, streptomycin, Vitis vinifera, Italia Red
