Abstract
The White Wine Colorimeter, a new instrument based on trans-reflectometry, is described, along with its design, construction, and testing. It is simple to operate, with performance characteristics and resolution capabilities far exceeding those of any other method tested to date. The methodology and instrumentation described are recommended in lieu of the presently designated spectrophotometric method for evaluating white wine color in accord with Federal Regulation.
