Abstract
A fluorometric procedure was developed for the determination of methyl anthranilate in wine. This method is based on steam distillation of the wine and the fluorescent properties of methyl anthranilate. The enhancement of fluorescence by ethanol is overcome by the use of ethanol in standards having the same concentrations as would appear in the distillates. Recovery was calculated to be 99%, and the standard error of the method is 0.044%.
