AB  - A Perkin-Elmer atomic absorption spectrophotometer, model 303, equipped with a digital concentration readout device, was used to analyze wines for copper and iron by direct aspiration into the burner. Analyses done in this manner and corrected for the effect of ethanol and dissolved solids compare favorably to samples analyzed after wet-ashing. The degree of recovery from wines of added amounts of copper and iron indicate the method is relatively interference-free.
