AB  - Ten grape varieties grown at the Irrigated Agriculture Research and Extension Center in Washington were studied for their suitability for production of wine. Analysis of the musts and wines over the past four years is presented in addition to taste panel results. The effect of total heat units during the maturation season is discussed. Units accumulated during August and September have a marked effect on the titratable acidity of the must. Most of the wines showed excellent varietal characteristics.
