By a second backcross of VR hybrids to several standard wine grapes, some fertile vines have been isolated that produce acceptable table wines. Many vines, however, are sterile or relatively unfruitful. Vines of the second backcross to V. vinifera have fruits that handle and process like those of V. vinifera. Some also retain a desirable berry-shedding characteristic that may be useful in mechanical harvest.}, issn = {0002-9254}, URL = {https://www.ajevonline.org/content/22/2/87}, eprint = {https://www.ajevonline.org/content/22/2/87.full.pdf}, journal = {American Journal of Enology and Viticulture} }
