Chudyk YR 1976 UL http://www.ajevonline.org/content/27/2/82.abstract AB Modified (pH-adjusted) and unmodified forms of grape-juice media (`Catawba,' `Concord,' `Niagara,' and `V.50061') as well as YM agar (Difco) were evaluated as viable yeast-detection media for winery quality control. The modified grape-juice media detected 136% to 940% more viable yeasts than the unmodified forms. Modified grape-juice media were compared with YM agar. Results indicate that YM agar is more appropriate than the modified grape-juice media.
