In the course of study, vine productivity was manipulated by defoliation at v{\'e}raison, varying pruning severity, and flower cluster thinning. The effect of these treatments on components of production and cold resistance of primary buds was measured.Both initial and equilibrium responses to the treatment combinations were observed. Defoliation at v{\'e}raison had the greatest negative effect on both yield and cold resistance. Of the various yield components measured those treatments which favored vine size, yield, fruitfulness, and soluble solids also favored the cold resistance of primary buds.}, issn = {0002-9254}, URL = {https://www.ajevonline.org/content/29/3/187}, eprint = {https://www.ajevonline.org/content/29/3/187.full.pdf}, journal = {American Journal of Enology and Viticulture} }
