Amati Y1 - 1980/01/01 UR - http://www.ajevonline.org/content/31/4/313.abstract N2 - The composition of the mixture of hydroxy compounds present in the volatile concentrate of Albana wine was studied by GC-MS, both by preparation of the corresponding p-nitrobenzoates and after isolation of the alcohols by thin-layer chromatography.Twenty-two alcohols and hydroxyesters were tentatively identified as their TMS derivatives by GC-MS. Most of these compounds have been previously reported. However, ethyl-9-hydroxynonanoate, ethyl-11-hydroxyundecanoate, methyl-3-hydroxycaproate and ethyl-3-hydroxycaprate are reported here for the first time. The methyl ester of 3-hydroxycaproic acid probably was formed during the separation procedure. ER -
