The method variation was fairly large. Considerable portion of this variation was due to the derivatization steps. The biggest variations were associated with the amino acids which react incompletely with the silyating agent. No significant individual amino acid difference between rootstock treatments was indicated for either trial. Nonparametric statistical tests indicate greater amino acid accumulation in the fruit of the Cabernet Sauvignon grown on St. George stock than that grown on 99R stock with A x R #1 intermediate for the Oakville trial. No such results were found for the Alexander Valley Trial. ER -
