Experiments were conducted on rooted hardwood cuttings in the greenhouse and in an established vineyard. Both fenarimol and triadimefon induced symptoms of stunting, deformation and necrosis on the young growing leaves. There were significant differences in the severity of phytotoxicity of fenarimol to various cultivars in both the greenhouse and the field experiments. The ranking of various cultivars according to phytotoxic severity of fenarimol in the greenhouse was similar to that in the field, although symptoms were more severe in the greenhouse.
