Hypotheses concerning interaction with endogenous hormones have been proposed. To varying degrees, it influences color development, fruit maturity and composition, abscission, vegetative growth, buds, propogation, seeds, and sensory characteristics of grapes and wine. Numerous factors including cultivar, concentration, timing, method of application, pH, adjuvants, temperature, and vine water status influence grapevine responses to ethephon. ER -
