Sani Y1 - 1986/01/01 UR - http://www.ajevonline.org/content/37/3/220.abstract N2 - Stock plants of 140 Ruggeri, a difficult-to-root grape rootstock, were treated in May and June with CCC and GA3; shoot and lateral growth was measured, as well as the rooting ability of cuttings propagated in November. CCC reduced shoot growth and enhanced lateral development, whereas GA3 retarded growth of laterals. In any case, the quantity of wood suitable for propagation did not differ among the various treatments. CCC markedly improved the rooting ability of cuttings, both in untreated as well as in 24-hour water dipping-treated cuttings. Water dipping in itself also improved the percentage of rooted cuttings.
