Nicholson YR 1999 UL http://www.ajevonline.org/content/50/2/199.abstract AB Matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization mass spectrometry (MALDI) was used as a tool for developing a rapid and efficient screening technique for the presence and identification of anthocyanins in grape skins. The anthocyanins of ten different grape varieties were extracted with a simple extraction procedure. Each of the five red grape varieties exhibited a distinct mass spectrum. The most abundant anthocyanins detected were the monoglucosides and the coumaroyl-monoglucosides of cyanidin, peonidin, delphinidin, petunidin, and malvidin.
