However, wines from eastern Canada and wines made from French hybrid grape varieties have not been investigated. Reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography was used to analyze 15 Nova Scotia red wines: three produced from vinifera varieties and 12 from French hybrid varieties. Mean trans-resveratrol concentration was 1.080 mg/L (range 0.148 to 4.547). cis-Resveratrol, total piceid, total astringin, and total pallidol concentrations are also reported. Concentrations of trans-resveratrol and other stilbenes tended to be higher in wines made from French hybrids than from vinifera varieties. ER -
