Advanced Pierce’s Disease resistant 87.5% Vitis vinifera winegrape selections bred at the University of California, Davis, were tested to determine the feasibility of cultivation under humid southeastern U.S. conditions. The study results indicate predominantly V. vinifera winegrapes can survive in central Alabama. (See Svyantek et al., pp.74–81).
