Abstract

As a part of our chemical investigation on the Moroccan grapevine, the phenolic composition of grapevine leaves of four cultivars among the most important in Moroccan viticulture is presented. Ten hydroxy flavonoids were isolated from the leaves of Vitis vinifera including myricetin, apigenin-7-glucoside, luteolin-7-glucoside and quercetin-3-rhamnogalactoside obtained from the taxon for the first time. The known quercetin-3-glucuronoside, quercetin-3-glucoside, quercetin-3-rhamnoside, and quercetin3-rutinoside were recorded. Quercetin, kaempferol and caffeic acid were also detected. The structure elucidation of these compounds was achieved by means of chemical methods and by UV, 1H, 13C , and 1H-13C 2D HETCOR spectroscopy.
