Abstract
Possible vectors of grapevine leafroll-associated virus 3 in Mendoza, Argentina, were evaluated. Mealybugs were not detected in the mid-south province, whereas some farms were infested in the north. The sole species present was Planococcus ficus Signoret. The increase of virus-infected plants in four experimental parcels and the transmission of a domestic isolate of GLRaV-3 by P. ficus strongly suggest the natural spread of the disease.
