Abstract
Experimental vapor-liquid relations for series of acids, alcohols, aldehydes, and esters are presented over a wide range of ethanol-water solvent concentrations. Values are presented as vaporization constants, relative volatilities, and activity coefficients to facilitate ready use. Over the low narrow range of congener concentrations studied, the vaporization equilibria were found to be presented accurately by vaporization constants, although a few higher congener concentratons indicated probable deviations in higher areas. In low congener concentrations, 10 g/liter or less, no appreciable change was found in either the alcohol volatility or the measured boiling temperature with either the Othmer or the Altsheler still.
