The enzymes were thought to be amino acid acylase for the N-carbethoxy glycine hydrolysis, and prolidase (iminodipeptidase) for the N-carbethoxy proline hydrolysis. No ethyl carbamate was found by the action of these crude enzyme preparations on the substrates.
