Using published solubility products for potassium bitartrate solutions and assuming a 0.15% concentration for succinic acid, the effect of variation of the concentration of malic or lactic acid on TA and tartrate and K+ content in ethanol/ water solutions at different pH values could be calculated with the formulas and computer. Tables were constructed showing the predicted malic or lactic acid content in ethanol/water solutions at a particular TA and pH.
